What a cute shirt! Sew Scrappy.

I made this cute shirt for my granddaughter.  She picked out the front pieces and cut the pattern out and sewed them together with my help.  As soon as the front got sewed together she didnt like it. I had to bribe her to put it on. It looks so cute on her.  This was an easy pattern to follow even for a beginner.

This is the Sew Scrappy Kids pattern from Ellie N Mac

This Fabric Had Grandma's Name All Over It

I found this cute Walmart mystery fabric bundle and it was screaming grandma would love this at me.  I have to get it.  3 yards for $8.  I could not pass it up.  I used a pattern from Ellie n Mac called Breezy with 3/4 sleeves and a peplum bottom.  My first one was a large, because the pattern had called for a 4 way stretch and this fabric was only a 2 way I was not aware I needed to size up.  At least there is enough fabric to make another one.  But i love how it came out. I do need to finish the hem on the bottom.  But I will be making another one real soon to surprise my grandma with.

Hypnos Sleep Set

Those doll outfits taught me a lot about sewing.
My first sewing project for an actual human. Lol I made this cute Night Shirt using the Hypnos Sleep Set from A Jennuine Life. .
I got the opportunity to be a tester for this wonderful pattern.  It is a sleep set that includes top and bottoms and a night shirt.  It was easy to sew up especially for a beginner sewist.  Is sewist a word?  This turned out sooo cute.  My granddaughter was my model and she loves it.  While I am posting this she walked past and stopped to look and says "Oh I look so Cute".

If you are interested in the pattern it is on sale right now for $5.  Link below.

So Excited!

I am so excited to say I applied to be a tester for a new pattern and I am one of the chosen testers. This is exciting for me. I got my pattern printed and put together, some measurements taken. And after a few questions with the designer I am ready to trace my pattern out and get to cutting.  Updates later.........

First Month of the Year

As the first month of the year is ending in a few short hours I have managed to read / listen to 21 books this month.  All but two of them are for the prompts in the Pop Sugar Reading Challenge.  I really enjoy doing this challenge. This is my second year doing this challenge.  It opens me up to books I would not normally read.  I love fantasy and horror.  Some of my favorite authors are: Nora Roberts, Stephen King, Cassandra Clare, James Patterson and you know I gotta throw some Nicholas Sparks in there too.  This are just a few of my favorites.  Ive been talking to my granddaughter about how reading takes you into another world.  She looks at me like I'm crazy.  She's six.  Do you love to read?   What are you reading now?

My Sewing Journey

Hello.  It's been a little while since I posted.  I started a new craft in the last few months.  This only started because I wanted to make some doll clothes for my granddaughter and nieces dolls.  It has really been a journey.  Ive gotten frustrated and set things aside for a couple of months, only to picked them back up to try again.  And guess what? I finished them.

I bought my sewing machine back in 2015/2016 and it sat in the box. I had originally started the butterrick pattern the summer of 2019. I had never sewn before and every time I touched my sewing machine it broke.   I ended up putting it aside until covid happened.  I had to make some masks for family members and decided to figure out how to use my sewing machine. I figured out what I was doing wrong and how to use it.

They have turned out so cute. Im looking forward to making many more outfits for the dolls but am also looking to branch out and make myself and my granddaughter some shirts, pj's, sweaters etc.  I also would love to try to make myself a wallet and purse.  I also have a sewing machine bag in mind too.  But step by step here.  Im hoping to start something a little bigger in size from doll clothes soon. Here are a couple of the items I have made so far.( Pattern credits below the images.)
